Reporting content.
Aura takes complaints about content seriously. If you encounter content on the platform that you believe is unlawful, violates our Terms of Service or Community Standards, infringes your rights, or depicts you without your consent, you can report it to us using any of the methods below.
- In the app: Use the report control available on profiles, photos, and conversations to flag content directly to our moderation team.
- By email: Contact our designated agent at legal@auraconnect.io.
To help us act quickly, please include where possible:
- A description of the content and where it appears.
- The reason you are reporting it (for example: non-consensual, unlawful, infringing, or depicting a minor).
- Your relationship to the content, if any (for example: the content depicts you, or infringes your copyright).
- Your contact information so we can follow up if needed.
How quickly we act.
Two different commitments apply, depending on what is being reported. Find the one that matches your report.
5 business days
General content complaints and removal requests
We act on general complaints and content-removal requests within five (5) business days of receipt. This covers content you believe is unlawful, violates our Terms of Service or Community Standards, or infringes your rights. Copyright claims follow the DMCA process described below, which has its own statutory timelines for counter-notices.
48 hours
Non-consensual intimate imagery, or content in which you appear without your consent
If you report intimate imagery published without the consent of a person depicted, we remove it within forty-eight (48) hours of a valid report. This commitment is made under 15 U.S.C. §6851 and the TAKE IT DOWN Act (Pub. L. 119-12).
We hold ourselves to the same forty-eight hours for any content in which you appear without having consented to appear, whether or not it is intimate. That is our policy, not a legal minimum. Either way, it applies to any person depicted, whether or not they hold an Aura account.
The removal process.
When we receive a report, our moderation team reviews it against our Terms of Service, Community Standards, and applicable law. We may remove or disable access to content while a report is under review.
- Content depicting a minor is removed and reported to the appropriate authorities as required by law.
- Terms and Community Standards violations are actioned at Aura's discretion, up to and including account suspension or permanent termination.
- Repeat infringers will have their accounts terminated.
Where we can, we will let the reporter know the outcome.
Copyright infringement (DMCA).
Aura respects intellectual property rights. If you believe content on Aura infringes your copyright, submit a notice to our designated agent at legal@auraconnect.io including: (a) identification of the copyrighted work, (b) identification of the infringing material, (c) your contact information, (d) a statement of good-faith belief, and (e) a statement under penalty of perjury that the information is accurate. This mirrors the process described in Section 6 of our Terms of Service.
