Lifestyle friendly is a descriptor applied to hotels, resorts, vacation destinations, and occasionally other businesses that have an established relationship with the lifestyle community — they are aware of who their guests are and what they do, actively welcome lifestyle business, and don't apply policies that would disrupt consensual adult activity in private spaces.
The concept matters because many hotels and resorts have policies that technically prohibit sexual activity among non-registered guests in rooms, public sexual activity, or other behaviors that may come up in lifestyle travel. Lifestyle-friendly properties have either explicitly waived or pragmatically don't enforce these policies for consenting adults in appropriate contexts.
Some properties are lifestyle-friendly by community reputation — they've hosted lifestyle events or have simply never caused problems for lifestyle travelers. Others are explicitly part of the lifestyle ecosystem, regularly booked for takeover events and operating as known lifestyle destinations.
