Dragon

Quick Definition

A dragon is a bisexual man who is willing and able to join an existing couple for sexual activity — the male equivalent of the unicorn, and equally rare in practice.

What is Dragon?

Dragon is a term used in some ENM and lifestyle communities to describe a bisexual man who is willing to join an existing couple for sexual activity — the male equivalent of the unicorn. The mythological parallel is intentional: if a bisexual woman willing to join a couple is a unicorn (rare and magical), then her male equivalent is a dragon.

The term is less widely standardized than unicorn — not all communities use it, and many people who would fit the description don't identify with or recognize the label. But it appears with enough regularity in ENM spaces to be worth understanding.

Dragons are sought primarily by couples interested in MFM or threesome configurations involving bisexual male-male dynamics, or by couples in which one or both partners is interested in a male third. As with unicorn hunting, the key ethical considerations involve treating the potential third as a full person with agency, not as a fantasy object to be acquired.

The rarity implication of both unicorn and dragon reflects not the scarcity of bisexual people — bisexual people are numerous — but the more specific requirement of being available, attracted to both members of a couple, emotionally equipped for the dynamic, and willing to engage on the couple's terms. This more specific compatibility is genuinely less common, regardless of gender.

For most lifestyle couples, the dragon concept is tangential — lifestyle culture tends to focus on couple-to-couple connections rather than seeking individual thirds. But understanding the term is part of navigating the full ENM vocabulary fluently.
