Discovery Feed

Quick Definition

The discovery feed on Aura is the primary browsing interface through which couples explore other profiles — a curated, preference-filtered view of compatible couples in their area or destination.

What is Discovery Feed?

The discovery feed is the primary interface through which Aura couples browse other profiles and find potential connections. Unlike generic swipe-based feeds designed for individual users, Aura's discovery feed is built around the couple as the unit of discovery — presenting profiles of other couples (and where applicable, individuals) in a format that supports joint browsing and mutual decision-making.

The discovery feed is filtered by a couple's stated preferences — location, experience level, play style preferences, relationship orientation, and other compatibility factors — showing the most relevant profiles rather than an undifferentiated volume of accounts. The goal is quality of matches over quantity of profiles.

For lifestyle couples, the ability to browse together — both partners reviewing potential connections on the same shared account — is a significant practical advantage over platforms that force couples into two separate individual accounts. Joint browsing means both partners see the same profiles, have equal input into which connections to pursue, and arrive at shared decisions naturally rather than through a disconnected parallel process.

The discovery feed also surfaces event listings, meet and greets, and community activity in a couple's area, making it a central hub for lifestyle engagement beyond direct couple-to-couple connection.
